Super Savings Saturday - Walmart Trip

I had a great trip to Walmart today! We were given $125.00 in Walmart Gift Cards for Christmas. Thank you so much to the giver of this gift-I am not saying where this wonderful gift came from for fear of embarrassing anyone or any hurt feelings. I went shopping back on December 28th and spent $65.00 of the cards, and tonight my goal was to use the remainder to stock up on meats to last us a while. So here is how it breaks down:

I am going to explain in an upcoming post about obtaining Gift Cards to stretch the budget. I know that we all do not have gift cards to use- but I wanted to show why they are worth asking for and how I took $125.00 in gift cards and using coupons and shopping smart I turned them into $200.00 worth of food!! I am very pleased to share this with you- I think it demonstrates that you can stretch your food money a long long way, even without gift cards.
