Cake Pops!

Okay, these are not the most frugal (but not too expensive either!) Easter project but it was just a fun thing me and my kids worked on tonight. I have not been feeling quite so joyful about motherhood lately and was hoping it wasn't projecting onto the kids. So last night I did step 1 of Easter Cake Pops and tonight we did Step 2 together. Tomorrow we will attempt to decorate them together! I found the original idea and recipe at Bakerella here. She's got chicks, sheep, eggs, and more. Mine don't look as smooth and beautiful as hers (they are so gorgeous!!!) but mine were definitely made with kid love! Read the recipe - they are really yummy!
We used:
2 bags of candy melts @ $1.79 each
a partial bag of pop sticks @ $1.50
1 box of cake mix @ $1.00
1 can of frosting @ $1.25 (shame on me - no coupons!)
1 piece of styrofoam at $3.79
Tomorrow we will decorate with various sprinkles and candies already in the cupboard.
